“It’s A Major Deal” Exhibition – Gallery Night Opening and Upcoming Reception/Awards Ceremony

The details… The “It’s a Major Deal” exhibition in the fourth floor Raw Space is open to the public beginning Friday, January 18 (Gallery Night). This exhibition showcases excellent work created by MIAD Sophomores and Juniors. Be sure to invite your family and friends to the Gallery Night showing.

At 6PM on Thursday, January 24, there will be an award ceremony/reception where the juror-selected winners will be announced. The jurors are planning to attend this event to personally congratulate all of the participants in the exhibition. If you have a class scheduled during the time of the award ceremony/reception, perhaps the class break can occur sometime between 6 and 7 PM to enable you to at least join us for a few minutes.

Please encourage your fellow classmates to help celebrate the first ever Sophomore/Junior juried exhibition at MIAD. Students of all class levels are encouraged to attend.

Welcome back and good luck in the semester!

Flu Season Is Here!

The details… Dear MIAD Students, Faculty and Staff,

The flu season is here and there are currently serious outbreaks of the flue nationwide. We ask everyone to take the following preventive measures:
• Wash your hands frequently with warm water and soap.
• Use hand sanitizers.
• Get immunized for the flu (various locations around the city, see below)
• If you are sick with the flu, stay home. Contact your health care provider. Students, email your faculty and inform them you are absent due to the flu. Faculty and staff, notify your supervisors.

MIAD maintenance has provided hand sanitizers and wipes throughout the building, and is wiping down handrails and communal surfaces daily.

For those students who have not yet gotten a flu shot Marquette University’s Student Health Center is getting another shipment of the vaccine on Tuesday 1/15. Students desiring the vaccine are instructed to call to set up an appointment (288-7184). Notify the MU receptionist that you are making an appointment to have a flu shot to confirm that vaccine is on hand. Those students with MIAD insurance are covered at no cost. Those without MIAD insurance will have to pay $20.00. The flu shot is the MU Health Center’s “blue light special “ of the week!

Students, if sick, call:
