The details… Reflecting upon the word compassion and the collaborative breast cancer awareness project between MIAD and GE Healthcare, our class (Fine Arts elective, Soft Space) is producing a school wide project to further explore actions and thoughts of compassion. We invite all students, faculty, and staff to produce a 5×5 inch square (or even part of one) to add to our blanket of compassion. Tutorials, supplies, and conversation provided. Please join our production circle, located in the MIAD Cafe all week long. This blanket will be unbound and hung square by square to represent a whole of many parts and to bring an awareness of the individual. Please join us online at beyondablanket.wordpress.com. This project will continue, the blanket will expand, the installation will grow.

To learn more, visit the installation of squares already in progress on the River Level, across from student life.
