LRC Tip of the Week: READING STRATEGIES

The details… Use your textbooks! Take notes, write in the margins, highlight! Finding ideas to work with in papers or to discuss in class is much easier if you keep track of what makes you pause, wonder, question or challenge. You will be surprised at how strong the connections between studio and academic courses are at MIAD. Can you find them?

LRC Tip of the Week: Take Care of YOU!

The details… This week’s tip is simply a reminder that when the inevitable “unexpected” happens (sickness, car troubles, etc.) responsibilities (work, studio projects, written essays, exam prep) do not stop. In other words, you need to be able to fit the unexpected into your schedule. When the unexpected starts to mess with your schedule (or if you want to plan ahead), stop in the Learning Resource Center to learn how to rearrange your schedule (so it doesn’t’ manage you – you manage it). Learning practical strategies for being flexible includes knowing who to ask for help.
