LRC TIp of the Week: Academic Success Strategies

Article *
This week’s tip is a REMINDER of some of the best strategies for maintaining your focus and energy levels using a positive Mind-Set. Here are the the strategies:

1. Focus on what is in your control. Skip the factors outside of your control and zoom in on what you CAN do something about. Focusing on what you can control is productive.

2. Use Your support system. Having others support us through stressful times is critical. Evaluate what systems you have in place and make adjustments to meet your needs.

3, Make Connections on Campus. Expand your connections to improve the chances that there are others available to you who will underst6and your situation and stressors. Challenge yourself to reach out to others who are different from you to expand the diversity of your support group.

Ticket Offer for March 21 Matinee of Beauty and the Beast at the Skylight

Article *
Lift your soul for a spell with this vibrant new version of André Grétry’s heartwarming 18th century opera at the Skylight Theatre. Based upon the original fairy tale, this inventive adaptation is a visual spectacle featuring dance and larger-than-life puppetry designed by Obie Award winner James Ortiz, who also serves as director. Sung in English and performed by a live orchestra, this poignant score is reminiscent of early Mozart operas.

MIAD students can receive $8 tickets to the Tuesday, March 21 Student Matinee at 11 a.m. by making a reservation with Grace DeWolff of the Skylight Theatre. She can be reached at graced@skylightmusictheatre.org
