|Maybe the beginning of the semester is not the perfect time to suggest a good read, but you may want to put this one on your reading list!
If you would like to have a better understanding how developing your thinking skills can affect not only your college experience, but the rest of your life, you might enjoy reading (or at least perusing) “What the Best College Students Do, “by Ken Bain. An easy read that documents stories of people, just like you, who attended college and wound up having what anyone would consider a most successful and meaningful life. The stories include people of all different backgrounds and a broad scope of early life locations and experiences (even someone from Milwaukee) and each story contributes to the goal of the book, namely, to identify the “tools” needed to achieve the goals you have for your life. Attending college is not the only way to be your own best “success story”, but, hey, you are here, why not make the most of it!
The book is available through one of our Library Consortium members. The link below will take you to the item record so you can request it if you are interested. Also available through Amazon and probably your local library or book store!
