LRC Tip of the Week: DEDICATED SPACE!

Article *
If you are considering new ideas for getting organized this semester, you may want to start by identifying “dedicated spaces”. Determine a place free from distraction (no cell phone or text messaging!) where you can maximize your concentration and be free of the distractions that friends, roommates, or hobbies can bring! You should also have a back-up space that you can escape to, like the library, majors work/study area, even a coffee shop where you can be anonymous. A change of venue may also bring extra resources.

These dedicated spaces can serve your needs for a place to shut out the distractions, to get quiet and focused to do some brainstorming or to really have a physical space where “doing the work” becomes automatic whenever you frequent it. Create your new space and connect it with the association you need the most to get organized and stay on top of your game!.

For additional tips on organizing in college, stop in the LRC and talk to a peer tutor.
