MIAD Facebook needs your help!

Help us!

When you search for MIAD on Facebook, two pages appear. One is the official MIAD Facebook page (Facebook.com/MIADcollege), and the other is an impostor page that redirects to the Art Institute (https://www.facebook.com/pages/Milwaukee-Institute-of-Art-Design/104024679633729?fref=ts).

Help us report the impostor page by going to this link: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Milwaukee-Institute-of-Art-Design/104024679633729?fref=ts and reporting the page as spam/scam.

To report:
-Click on the settings icon in the upper-right corner of the page.

The details… For MIAD Faculty, Staff and Students Only!

We have a new system! Everyone must sign up for the new year!

Go to http://www.miad.edu/textalert

Use this form to sign up for official MIAD communications via text messages and email.

This system will be used in cases of unscheduled closings (such as snow days), emergencies, outages, and other urgent and important situations.

The messages are sent by SMS text, and also (if you choose) by email. Depending on your plan, you may be charged by your phone provider for messages received.

This system is completely voluntary and designed to be managed by you. You’ll be asked to set up a password when you sign up. This will allow you to make changes to your account later on. For example, you may wish to change your notification phone number, or your wireless carrier. You can even cancel the service if that’s what you prefer.

Learning Resource Center Tip of the Week: REALITY CHECK!

The details… While every one wants to be outstanding in their art, not every project will wind up being everything it could be. Sometimes assignments and projects are designed to move you forward and are valuable for the experience. Sometimes there just isn’t enough time to do more than what you have. Do your honest best to bring your work to a place of completion / resolution, and keep track of ideas you might want to pursue at a later date. When confronted with multiple projects, ask yourself how much time and energy you really have to complete them all. Be honest about your need for sleep and food. Then ask yourself where can you take the project(s) within the time and space you have available. Doing reality checks as needed, can help keep your perspective on things and provide you with a list of ideas for fut ure work as well!
