2008 Service Learning Symposium

This years event featured Genyne Edwards Esq., and was held on Tuesday, March 17th 2008.

  • A passionate community advocate, Attorney Genyne Edwards’ professional career has been driven by her commitment to volunteerism, youth advocacy, and in particular, her love of culture and the arts. She is the Program Director for the Mosaic Milwaukee Program, Community Relations Director for Radio Milwaukee, was named Volunteer of the Year in 2003 by the Volunteer Center of Greater Milwaukee and was featured in Milwaukee Magazine’s “Top 35 under 35” listing. In 2004, she was named one of the most influential African Americans in the Tourism industry.

At the symposium, Jesse Engelbrecht and Erik Baden were co-recipients of the Northwestern Mutual Life Service Learning Award for their work at Highland Montessori School. They held drawing workshops for six Saturdays during spring semester. During Fall semester Jesse and Erik’s journal reflections were exhibitedalongside the drawings.
