As students meet with advisors and register for spring classes this month, one of their key topics for discussion – now and throughout the year – should be their post-graduation planning.
At this point in the academic year:
- Seniors should consult advisors about their full-time job search, pursuit of freelance work or plans for graduate school.
- Juniors, who have not already done so, should finalize their resume and prepare work samples that will be needed as they apply for summer internships.
- Sophomores should explore with their advisors the types of careers and professions for graduates in their majors, as a supplement to the curricular programs designed for them.
- Freshmen Parents – see the post titled “It’s Never Too Early for Career Planning” – for a comprehensive overview of MIAD’s Career Program of Study.
