There are a variety of ways in which students can get involved on campus.<\/p>\n
Student Party<\/strong> is MIAD\u2019s equivalent of Student Government.\u00a0It meets weekly on Wednesdays during the Common Hour (11 \u2013 12:30 p.m.) in Room 399A.\u00a0 Student Party helps with MIAD traditions like the annual AIDS Walk WI, Blood Drives, the MIAD Halloween Party, the annual Talent Show and Health Heelers.<\/p>\n There also are several active student groups<\/a> on campus:<\/p>\n Adventure Club<\/p>\n Ambrosia Designs<\/p>\n Anime Club<\/p>\n ASID (American Society of Interior Designers)<\/p>\n Billiards Club<\/p>\n Dungeons & Dragons<\/p>\n Film Club<\/p>\n Gradients<\/p>\n GSA (Genders and Sexualities Alliance)<\/p>\n IDSA (Industrial Designers Society of America)<\/p>\n InterVarsity<\/p>\n ISO (Photography)<\/p>\n Magic: The Gathering<\/p>\n MIAD Print Club<\/p>\n Swim Team (Curatorial)<\/p>\n Video Game Club<\/p>\n If a student is interested in creating a student group that doesn\u2019t currently exist, they should contact Student Party (studentparty@miad.edu<\/a>).<\/p>\n Another organization on campus, Alpha Lambda Delta (ALD)<\/a>, is open to freshmen students who met or exceeded a 3.5 GPA in their first semester at MIAD. ALD fosters academic achievement and learning through thought, design and expression, and believes every person can lead, learn and design with a purpose greater than self to change the world.<\/p>\n Should your student become a member of this prestigious honors society, they will be provided the opportunity to compete for scholarships and fellowships awarded by National Alpha Lambda Delta.<\/p>\n We encourage you and your student to interact with us on Monday, January 15th<\/sup>, 2018 for the National Day of Service in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. Invites will be shared with your student.<\/p>\n Additionally, there will be an ALD initiation ceremony held in Spring 2018 for new members and their families.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" There are a variety of ways in which students can get involved on campus.
