{"id":169,"date":"2011-10-11T17:55:23","date_gmt":"2011-10-11T22:55:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.miad.edu\/parents\/?p=169"},"modified":"2012-12-03T13:09:00","modified_gmt":"2012-12-03T19:09:00","slug":"majors-dialogue-continues-college-wide-exploration","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.miad.edu\/parents\/2011\/10\/11\/majors-dialogue-continues-college-wide-exploration\/","title":{"rendered":"Majors Dialogue Continues College-Wide Exploration"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As part of their exposure to all of MIAD\u2019s majors, freshmen participated in a Majors Dialogue October 6 \u2013 an evening in which they experienced the intense creativity and energy taking place in each of the academic areas.<\/p>\n<p>Activities in the majors and minors included a brand identification game in the Communications Design area, a sketching demonstration on a Wacom tablet in <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.miad.edu\/parents\/files\/2011\/10\/photo-5crop1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-thumbnail wp-image-171\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.miad.edu\/parents\/files\/2011\/10\/photo-5crop1-144x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"130\" height=\"135\" \/><\/a>Industrial Design, a group self-portrait in Painting and an \u201cErasure\u201d workshop in the Writing minor where students took a page from a book and created a new narrative.<\/p>\n<p>With their faculty, students are currently taking a more sustained look at, and discussion of, what is happening in the majors by looking at facilities, student work and actual classes in progress.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>As part of their exposure to all of MIAD\u2019s majors, freshmen participated in a Majors Dialogue October 6 \u2013 an evening in which they experienced the intense creativity and energy taking place in each of the academic areas.
