Are you frustrated or even angered by certain aspects of our community?
Use your emotions to fuel some real change. Many volunteers find that they get more satisfaction by volunteering their hands, minds, and time. Satisfaction that they could never get from just raising their voices.
We are so fortunate to have such a strong collection of community organizations in the Milwaukee area. With more than two hundred community partners in our database, there are volunteer opportunities for everyone.
Find a reason to serve!
There are many reasons to volunteer. At a professional level, volunteering is a unique way to develop skills or even find new talents you never knew you had. Further, volunteering is a great way to meet new people and network.
Serving in the community is an outstanding way to gain perspective. By volunteering outside of our immediate neighborhood or with new people, we can better define “community.” Not only do volunteers feel a sense of individual achievement through serving in the community but, more importantly, the community itself begins to grow as it recognizes itself as something bigger.
Through volunteering – individuals from different areas begin to recognize themselves as neighbors. They may find commonalities that they did not see before. When we each use the unique skills we possess we strengthen ourselves, and our greater community.
