Artists Working in Education:

Betty Brinn Children’s Museum:
The Betty Brinn Children’s Museum is dedicated to providing interactive exhibits and educational resources that promote the healthy development of children in their formative years—from birth through age ten. The Museum experience encourages hands-on learning and the development of fundamental skills, self-esteem, and the ability to work with others. Caregivers use the Museum as a resource that provides information on early childhood brain development, learning styles, and effective parenting skills. Core El Centro:
CORE/El Centro, located on the near Southside of Milwaukee, is a social-profit, bilingual, natural healing center which embraces all people and has a passion for serving those of low income. Elm Creative Arts Elementary School:

Fernwood Montessori School:

Gaenslen School:
Gaenslen School believes that achievement, sense of community, and utilization of technology, along with positive student relationships maximize the potential of all students. HALO:
The Homeless Assistance Leadership Organization, Inc. (HALO) is a 120 bed emergency shelter located at 2000 DeKoven Avenue in Racine, WI. HALO meets emergency shelter needs for all men, women and children who are experiencing homelessness, coordinates supportive services that help homeless adults become self-sufficient, provides community leadership to prevent chronic homelessness and ensures children get positive support through stable living and learning environments.

Happy Endings No Kill Shelter:
All adult cats are spayed or neutered before being adopted. We currently place an average of 200 cats per year. All potential adopters must fill out an application and go through an interview process. Adoption facilitators walk potential adopters through the shelter and help them find a cat that will touch their heart and fill an empty space in their home and life.

Horicon National Wildlife Refuge:
The northern two-thirds of Horicon Marsh is managed by the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service as the 21,000 acre Horicon National Wildlife Refuge.

Based on Gospel values, the House of Peace serves the community by assisting families and individuals in meeting their spiritual, material, and emotional needs, thereby helping families remain together and promoting self-sufficiency.

Hunger Task Force:
Hunger Task Force believes that every person has a right to adequate food obtained with dignity. Hunger Task Force works to prevent hunger and malnutrition by providing food to people in need today and by promoting social policies to achieve a hunger free community tomorrow.

In Tandem Theater:

IN:SITE:
IN:SITE fosters place-responsive temporary public art. In Milwaukee County, the projects IN:SITE curates, manages, promotes, and maintains highlight how temporary public art and infrastructure needs can dovetail. IN:SITE also advocates locally and nationally for policies that will promote the inclusion of temporary public art and provides information so artists and organizations can forward projects.

Independence First:
Independence First is a non-profit agency directed by, and for the benefit of, people with disabilities, primarily serving the four county metropolitan Milwaukee area.

International Learning Center:
The International Learning Center (formerly Indochinese Learning Center) has provided English as a Second Language instruction to over 5,000 African and Southeast Asian adult refugees in the Milwaukee area since 1981. We specialize in literacy and communication skills for refugees who have had little or no prior education in their own country.

Jefferson County Dog Park:
The Jefferson County Dog Park is located on Highway 26 between Jefferson and Johnson Creek. The first phase, 23 acre Terri Tinsley Dog Exercise Area, opened on the site in November of 2003. A major expansion to the dog park was completed in 2009. 36 acres of fenced ground was added to the original 23 acres. The expanded park contains two large dog areas as well as two small dog areas.

Jeremiah Curtin Academy:
Curtin has been recognized three times in the past six years by Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction as a New Wisconsin Promise school because we have met annual achievement goals and have higher than average reading and math scores when compared with similar state schools. We offer classes in music, art, gym, and piano keyboarding. An accelerated reading program ensures that all pupils become competent readers. Band instrument lessons are offered during the school day.

The Kenosha Achievement Center, is a non profit organization committed to the growth and success of persons with special needs. La Causa Crisis Nursery:
La Causa, Inc. is a nonprofit organization founded in 1972 that prevents abuse and provides education and social services to thousands of Milwaukee County residents. Little Books that Could:
The Little Books that Could is a project of active participation that engages the heart to resolve social injustice. Through simple methods of hand-making a small book on a topic of fundamental injustice, solidarity grows in support of social change. The overarching principle and mission of the project is the recognition and development of the nobility of humanity. Within the context of an unusually accessible vibrant experience, each participant creates the form and content of a little book that speaks out against oppression of any kind. For most participants, this is often the first time their opinions are voiced in a public, let alone, a global venue.
