Students in Leslie Fedorchuk’s Service Learning class worked with Big Brothers Big Sisters to create maps of their neighborhoods, learning more about what maps are and what they can teach us.
15 students, or ‘Bigs,’ and 15 ‘Littles’ spent Saturday, April 9 at MIAD, learning about how today’s artists frequently use map-making as a way of working in their studios and creating their own maps with important neighborhood features.
Littles were able to learn more about Milwaukee, and specific neighborhoods, discussing the importance of understanding maps.
