Partners – Medical / Special Needs

In their junior year, all MIAD students complete a four credit Social Science course (HS380), which includes 35 hours of service in the Milwaukee metro area. Below is a list of over 200 organizations committed to strengthening the community, utilizing both grassroots and well-established means. MIAD students and alumni have worked with all of these organizations to better understand the issues that they deal with and to give of their time and energy.

BESTD Clinic:

The mission of BESTD Clinic is to provide quality, professional sexually transmitted disease diagnosis and treatment as well as HIV/AIDS prevention counseling and testing in a manner that is sensitive to the sexual orientation and gender identity of our clients. Broadscope Disability Services:

Broadscope Disability Services seeks to advance the independence, productivity and rights of citizenship for persons with disabilities and their families in Milwaukee, Waukesha, Ozaukee, Washington, Racine and Kenosha counties.

Center for Communication, Hearing, and Deafness:

The Center’s mission is to help infants, children and adults reach their fullest potential by eliminating communication and language barriers through personalized services, technology and education.

Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin:

The Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin is one of the leading centers for pediatric health care in the United States. The hospital provides inpatient care, including transport of critically ill or injured children and intensive care services, and more than 70 specialty outpatient clinics that care for the full range of pediatric health care needs.

Easter Seals Southeast Wisconsin is a not for profit values-based agency that supports children and adults with disabilities, their families and caregivers through a range of services.

Goodwill Industries of Southeast Wisconsin

Goodwill provides training, employment and supportive services for people with disabilities or disadvantages who seek greater independence.

Grand Avenue Club:

The mission of Grand Avenue Club is to provide Milwaukee County adults who have experienced mental illness with an array of opportunities that will assist them to experience recovery, to integrate into society via work and education, and to live lives that are vocationally productive and socially satisfying.

Independence First is a non-profit agency directed by, and for the benefit of, people with disabilities, primarily serving the four county metropolitan Milwaukee area.

Make-A-Wish Wisconsin:

Wishmakers On Campus is designed as a hands-on, student driven service learning program benefiting Make-A-Wish® Wisconsin. We can provide you college organizations, student governments, athletic teams and Greek organizations with ideas, objectives and tools to run a successful fundraiser.
