Johnson is originally from Chicago and moved to Madison in his early years. Johnson is a self- taught artist. Johnson currently works at the nonprofit studio in Madison called Artworking, Inc. In his work, He paints with bright, vivid colors and depicts African American deities and angelic figures. Johnson displayed his work at Portrait Society for four years. A solo show of his work was featured at the Museum of Wisconsin Art in 2017.
