Francisco Xavier Mora was born in Mexico City in 1952. Mora works as an artist, author and illustrator. Son of Luis Mora, an Artist and an art teacher at the National Academy, and Luz Paz, a wonderful storyteller.

Studied art at La Esmeralda and the Escuela Popular de Bellas Artes in Mexico City and Morelia, Mexico.                           Former teachers: Arturo Estrada, a disciple of Frida Kahlo, and Alfredo Zalce, a muralist and contemporary of Diego Rivera.

Relocated in 1979 to the United States, living in San Diego, CA, Santa Fe, NM, and Milwaukee, WI. Gallery and museum exhibits in Mexico City, California, Illinois, New Mexico and Wisconsin. Published books for children.
