Thomas received his MFA with a Merit Scholarship at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Before that he received a BFA in Printmaking at Tyler School of Art, Temple University in Phila. Pa. He as taught at Tyler School of Art, The School of the Art Institute., Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design, Anchor Graphics, The Museum of Contemporary Art, Beacon St. Gallery, Gallery 37, and Penland School of Crafts. He is also the Founder and Master Printer at Hummingbird Press Editions. Lucas has been featured in many shows. In 2017, Lucas’s work was featured in, You Know What Comes Next, a group exhibition, at Gallery 19 in Chicago, IL. His work was also shown in a solo show, New Works by Thomas Lucas and Hummingbird Press Editions, at the Art Museum of Greater Lafayette, IN.
